Offered for sale caramel colors can receive a variety of edemas of brown. These caramel dyestuffs produced by controlled heat treatment of sugars (mostly glucose) with catalysts (Sulphite or ammonium compound), or without them.
There are four basic types of caramel colors, which are produced in liquid or dry form
- Caramel colors E 150 a are used in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, soups, dairy products, dry coffee and coffee drinks.
- Caramel colors E 150b - Are used for the production of vermouth, brandy and aromatic extracts.
- Caramel colors E 150c for beer, soups, sauces, for dairy products and confectionery.
- Caramel colors E 150d widely used for the manufacture of alcoholic products, meat products, ice cream, feed, and other baking confectionery.
